Weekend Work – 2/18/12

This weekend was predicted to be miserably cold and rainy, but we made plans to work anyway. Brother-in-law Extraordinaire came yet again (always bearing a fresh box of fritters) and worked with us all day. The morning dawned overcast but dry, so everyone set to work quickly, racing the weather. I was sent to town for windows and a door, while the men started work on the sawmill. They managed to saw two large pine logs before the rain started. Now all the wood we should need to finish the house inside and out  is cut and drying. Meanwhile, I got back with the goods and managed to get a few things done myself before the rain, including cleaning out the chicken coop. The rest of the day was spent installing windows and a door. It went a little slower due to the weather, but we got the two bathroom windows in and the back door in place, but not finished-we have to get the right thickness under the door to accommodate the flooring before we install it.
