Ventilation Fan in the Container

Roy was able to intall the ventilation fan in the back wall of the container this past weekend. A friend of his had three fans that he sold us for only $20 each. First Roy had to cut a hole  in the very thick metal. This involved several blade changes, Roy wearing a coat (and it was hot), and me holding a fire extinguisher in case the hot sparks caught something on fire.  All went well, but it looked like a fireworks display in there.

After the hole was cut, Roy made a frame to hold the fan and everything fit well. He took the boards out of the two transoms in the container and is working on getting a screens on both. He made a plexiglass window for the front that will prop open in hot weather and the air flows very well through the length of the container. Roy estimates it is exchanging all the air in 4 minutes. The difference in temperature has been amazing. It is very comfortable, except when the dryer is running. I had planned to eventually put an evaporative cooler in there, but this may work well enough.
