Pictures of the Interior of Cabin

The cabin is even more comfortable than we imagined, and it is a relief to have space to move around. We are very pleased with how solid and warm it is. Even when it is cold outside, it is warm in the house and we use very little heat. We actually have no heat or air installed and are using a plug-in oil filled radiator on super cold nights and no heat at all overnight if the temp is above freezing. A little cube blower heater is enough to very quickly get it up to 70 degrees in the morning if it is just bit cold.

We feel very lazy lately because we have worked so hard and constantly this past year to finish the cabin, and now we find ourselves “lounging” and watching a movie on Netflix, reading a book or just going to bed ridiculously early. It has been nice to catch up on rest, though, and we have begun to do finish work like shelves and storage.

We had lots of fun decorating for Christmas. The two youngest girls are in high school and they went through the boxes of ornaments like 6 year olds, pulling things out at random and throwing boxes and packaging over their shoulders and making a mess. When I scolded them, they reminded me that it’s been 2 years since they saw all the decorations and they were excited about that as well as the fact that we have room to have them out.

Above are a few shots of the main room(s). Except for the bedrooms upstairs, the rest is all open. The bathroom has a toilet room and a shower room, but the sink and w/d are in the open. I absolutely love the layout and am thankful we spent so many months drawing and redrawing our ideas.
