Recently we were blessed to find out about a warehouse sale, where a contractor was cleaning out old odds and ends to make more space. This door latch is one of the best buys we made. It’s a really good door set, with dead bolt and all the other pieces. The best thing is we had wanted this kind of thumb latch specifically, but after pricing them, decided we’d have to forgo our ideal. I was really excited to find this at only $25 (including all parts). The only drawback was that it was shiny brass. That is my least favorite anytime, but especially on a homemade door on a cabin. I decided I could paint it to look right, and bought a good textured black spray paint. Middle daughter laid out all the pieces and carefully sprayed every one. They look perfect…just like wrought iron…and the finish is durable and permanent.
