When we started on the foundation we rented a trackhoe and decided to do all the damage we could with one rental, so we dug the trench for the sewer and supply lines. We also managed to excavate the current supply line for the third time this year. We then had to stop and repair that and decided to update the system while it was being repaired, so we added some cutoffs and covers. After weeks of stepping across a ditch to get from the driveway to anywhere, we have finally laid the lines and covered it over. We used PEX to run the supply line from the cutoff to the cabin (it should technically be blue PEX, but red was what we had left over after the last plumbing project). We are huge fans of PEX, by the way. We use 3″ sewer & drain pipe (S&D) for the waste line and have it all the way to the septic tank, but haven’t connected it in yet. Roy had to do some figuring on drop and run distances, and we had to put in a few step downs along the way. We are now ready with the supply at the cabin and just have to run the plumbing to each of the fixtures inside.
