After resting on Sunday, we were behind our schedule, so we knew we were in for a long day Monday. We both got off work in the early afternoon, and mixed concrete endlessly for hours. Thankfully, friends let us borrow their concrete mixer. We honestly wouldn’t have had the stamina to do it if we’d had to mix it one wheelbarrow at a time by hand. We finished filling all the pillars and the foundation wall blocks that had rebar.
Yesterday, I scraped the floor one last time to get it nice and smooth and remove all the concrete drippings. Then I poured the second application of termitacide around the perimeter of the interior and the pillars…and finally we are done! In the big scheme, though, we are only getting started. Next comes terracing the front “yard”, finishing the rough plumbing, and starting the floor.
