Today, the trackhoe we rented was delivered and we finally officially broke ground. Roy has been digging holes with a posthole digger for several days, for various reasons, so technically he broke ground before now. We rented it for 24 hours, but only got 8 hours of run time. We worked fast, all day long. It was almost a 15 hour work day, counting shoveling, measuring, stringing, measuring, stringing, shoveling…as well as trackhoe work. We are wiped out, but we have footer trenches! A little (well, comparatively speaking) shovel work is left, but we ran out of energy first, and then thankfully, daylight.
