Change Is The Only Constant In Life

Change Is The Only Constant In Life

It’s hard to believe we’ve been in the cabin for 3 1/2 years already. So much has happened and there’s more change coming. We’ve graduated 2 girls from high school and 1 from college, gained a son-in-law, lost 2 grandparents and 1 dear aunt, welcomed a grandson and a granddaughter, said goodbye to a beloved job, started a business, and now we are gearing up to have 2 parents and another dear aunt move to the property with us this fall. Our friend circle has also changed. We’ve embraced new friends, helped old friends move far away, and lost a few to death.

In addition, we’ve taken turns, two summers in a row, with health scares. All is well, though, and we both were restored back to complete health. God is good. Life is good. Different, scary sometimes, unpredictable, and crazy full. None of us ever know what lies around the river bend, so we just paddle like mad most of the time, hoping to keep up with the changes thrown our way.

The last couple of weeks have been spent getting the old, burned out house shell ready for a roof. We have way more to do than we have time to do it, so we will just get up each day and do the next thing and accomplish all we can. We pray for strength, endurance, and guidance as we journey forth. We plan to enjoy the ride, and invite you to share it with us.
